Comparative Effectiveness Research Training (CERT) Program

Applications are being accepted for the Comparative Effectiveness Research Training (CERT) Program, jointly sponsored by RSNA, the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), the Society of Interventional Radiology Foundation (SIRF), and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).

CERT is an interactive course in comparative effectiveness research, designed for junior faculty and senior trainees in the imaging sciences. International radiologists as well as mid to senior-level faculty will also be considered.

Led by a faculty of well-established leaders in the field, CERT will cover cost-effectiveness evaluation, decision analysis, meta-analysis and systematic review, imaging guided interventions, and population data methods, delivered in a combination of online modules, a 1½-day in-person workshop (Feb. 3-4, 2023), web-based didactic lectures and small group web-based grant proposal review discussions over the course of a year, beginning in October 2022.

Applications are being accepted through Sept. 6. Accepted participants are responsible for travel expenses and onsite hotel accommodations. There is no fee for this course. For more information, visit RSNA.org/CERTor contact RSNA staff at dor@rsna.org with questions.

RSNA and SIIM Offer National Imaging Informatics Course

Registration is open for the National Imaging Informatics Course-Radiology (NIIC-RAD), a weeklong online course introducing the fundamentals of imaging informatics. The first term will be held Sept. 19-23, 2022. The second term will be held March 6-10, 2023. NIIC-RAD is made possible through a partnership between RSNA and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM). Register at https://siim.org/page/niic.

Medical Student Travel Scholarship Available

RSNA offers a Medical Student Travel Scholarship that gives medical students considering radiology as a future career option the opportunity to attend RSNA 2022.

RSNA will award 15 winners with $1,000 to fund travel and hotel costs for attending RSNA 2022 in-person. Applicants must be a full-time medical student and submit an essay about why they are interested in radiology and what they hope to experience during RSNA 2022.

NIH Grantsmanship Workshop at RSNA 2022

The NIH Grantsmanship Workshop introduces participants to the process of preparing a competitive research or training grant application. Designed for junior faculty in academic centers who wish to pursue a career in radiologic research, this didactic workshop will cover elements of a good grant proposal, understanding the review process and planning the proposal.

Updated Patient-Centered Care Curriculum Now Available for Download

Educating residents on the importance of patient-centered care is now a core competency of medical education training programs in the U.S.

Based on Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) mandates, RSNA developed the Patient-Centered Care Interactive Learning Set. This interactive curriculum of 11 customized learning modules educates trainees in diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology and integrated interventional radiology residencies.

The curriculum has recently been updated to comply with July 1, 2022, ACGME requirements.
