Building Connections Across the Americas: Addressing Access to Radiology

With the goal of fostering global partnerships and improving health equity, access, safety and patient care in South, Central and North America, RSNA is pleased to introduce the Building Connections Across the Americas: Addressing Access to Radiology program.

Program overview

The Building Connections Across the Americas: Addressing Access to Radiology program will convene thought leaders through three events that will take place between 2022 and 2023 in:

  • Chicago at the RSNA annual meeting
    • Nov. 30, 1–5 p.m. CT; Attendees must be registered for RSNA 2022
  • Quito, Ecuador, in conjunction with the RSNA Global Learning Center site
  • São Paulo, Brazil, during Jornada Paulista de Radiologia (JPR) 2023 (hosted by the Sociedade Paulista de Radiologia e Diagnóstico por Imagem).

The interactive sessions will focus on issues of health care access, equity and radiation safety throughout the Americas with a goal of discussing the major challenges in each area and finding sustainable solutions. Leading radiologists, physicists, diplomats, educators, hospital administration and industry personnel from all over the world will participate as both audience members and key collaborators.

Apply for a travel award

RSNA will distribute awards to offset costs associated with travel through the Across the Americas Travel Award (AATA).

Awards in the amount of $1,200 USD are available to offset travel costs to the events in Ecuador and Brazil. Applicants may apply for multiple awards and awardees will receive funds on-site upon arrival to the meeting(s).

Travel awards do not include the cost of meeting registration.

  • Event one in Chicago
    • The deadline to submit an award application for the seminar held during RSNA 2022 has passed.
  • Event two in Quito, Ecuador
    • Applications open Sept. 1.
  • Event three in São Paulo, Brazil
    • Application information to be announced.

AATA eligibility
AATA applicants may be from any country. Priority will be given to those living in the Americas. RSNA membership is preferred, but not required.

Award funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
